Popular Spots For Senior Pictures

Happy July 4th Weekend!

You may be wondering where is the best location for a High School Senior photo session.

Ultimately, the choice is yours but I’ve compiled a list of our most popular and most frequently requested spots for our High School Senior Sessions. (And why they are popular)

But, before we jump in, remember that the time of day and the time of year (I.E Season), will make a big difference in the look and feel of your photos. I ALWAYS recommend choosing a sunny day and ideally, either end of the day, when the sun is lower in the sky, which of course can differ in time, depending on the time of year!

If this is your first time, scheduling a High School Senior session, we have you covered. We’ll take care of everything for you!

We suggest scheduling a session before September 15th, when the weather is mostly great, and the longer days will give you plenty of options in terms of the time of day.

So… Let’s look at popular locations and examples from some of the last year’s High Schol Senior Sessions.

1) The Grist Mill, Sudbury

There are some great spots up behind the mill, and I love to use this wall for a nice relaxed, and casual pose.

The Grist Pond looks amazing later in the day when the sun is setting, and can create some beautiful rim lighting behind my subjects.

This is just in front of the mill by the stream when the shrubs and wild flowers are in full bloom. This was taken towards the end of the day, when the sun was lower in the sky.

This is another favorite spot, which is behind the mill, on the bridge which crosses the stream. This can be good location both in the morning and later in the day.

2) Heritage Park, Sudbury

Heritage park is a popular location for Senior Sessions and I also like to use the town center structures as a backdrop to mix it up a bit.

I prefer the light in the first part of the day for pictures at Heritage Park. This monument stone is great for posing too.

If you have a pet dog or other family members, it’s always a nice idea to get them involved.

3) Wood Park, Hudson

Wood Park is a little hidden gem and is great in the afternoon

I love to capture some candid moments during any session.

The park has a river that runs through it and there is a nice little bridge which provides some great posing options.

There’s also a small outdoor stage in the park which is really cool spot for a more grungy feel.

4) Wolbach Farm, Sudbury

Wolbach Farm is stunning at the end of a day in late summer, when the grass in the meadow is nice and high.

There’s a lot of nice structures and trails at the farm to take advantage of.

The meadow also has a nice fence to lean against for a relaxed looking pose.

5) Camp Sewataro

Now that this beautiful area in Sudbury is open to the public, its a great option for High School Senior Pictures.

Many families like to make their High School Senior Session a family affair.

There are so many great spots in Sewataro and I’m looking forward to many more photo sessions here this year.

6) At Your Home

If you’re home lends itself to a Photo Session, its a great option. This session from last year was done at the family home which also happens to be one of the oldest homes in Sudbury!

I love to get creative with lighting so if ever there’s an opportunity to do something a little different, it always a nice to mix things up.

This was the picture that the family chose for last years yearbook. All our Senior sessions include all digital JPEG’s which can be downloaded from the online gallery.

We will retouch and submit your chosen picture to the school.

7) Studio: 178 Prides Crossing Rd, Sudbury

We’re very fortunate to have a great setting in the front and back garden at the studio. This is a picture taken in the front garden, later in the day.

We can also combine an outdoor session with a traditional studio photo shoot, which is also a good idea if you leave things a little late and the weather isn’t co-operating.

Another shot from the garden but this one is in the back and the yellow flowers worked well with this senior’s outfit.

This is a shot from inside the studio. It really depends on the look you are going for, and this senior was very keen to do everything inside, with studio lighting for a more artistic feeling.

A 30-40 Minute Session within 5 miles of Sudbury. Includes all digital photos from the session and Stuart Beeby Photography submitting the final choice to the school. Pet dog(s) welcome, and a $50 Credit for Prints is Included!

Shining Star Session @ $400.00

A 60 Minute Session within 5 miles of Sudbury. Includes all digital photos from the session and Stuart Beeby Photography submitting final choice to school. Other Family members and pet dog(s) are welcome with a $100 Credit for Prints Included!
